This sermon invites us to see Christmas beyond sentimentality—as a cosmic victory. Drawing from Luke 2 and Revelation 12, we hear the familiar story of Jesus’ birth set against a dramatic backdrop: a spiritual battle between God and the defeated dragon, Satan.
The baby in the manger is no passive child—He is the promised King who rules the nations. His birth sparks war in heaven, the defeat of the accuser, and the assurance of our salvation through the blood of the Lamb. The church, symbolized as the woman, is protected and preserved by God, even as the enemy rages in defeat.
This is the good news we need today: Christ has won. God’s kingdom is secure. The devil is hurled down.
So we live with confidence—praising God boldly, holding fast to His Word, and walking into each day, and the new year, in the power of Jesus’ victory.
“Now have come the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Messiah.” (Rev. 12:10)
